Where are you from?

I’m from Williston, North Dakota, and was raised on my parents’ ranch east of town. Growing up there, I spent much of my time riding horses and developed a strong passion for everything equine.

How are you involved with quarter horses?

I grew up riding Quarter Horses, showing and rodeoing, which gave me a deep appreciation for their versatility, athleticism, and temperament. Horses have always been a big part of my life, and that connection has continued throughout my life.

What made you want to join the MonDak Quarter Horse Board of Directors?

I want to be a part of the equine community and help where I can. Joining the MonDak Quarter Horse Board of Directors felt like a meaningful way to give back, support others who share the same passion, and contribute to the growth and success of Quarter Horse programs and events in our region.

Where are you from?

I grew up in Glendive, Montana, riding 3C horses on the Eastern Montana Horse Show Circuit and showing local 4H. In 2005 I was given a registered Quarter Horse from the Nemitz ranch that I rode for the next twenty years. Starting that colt was an experience that changed my life and sparked a lifelong passion for horsemanship and the working cowhorse.

How are you involved with quarter horses?

After earning a degree in ag business from Dawson Community College, I spent years riding colts and developing my horsemanship, with a particular interest in traditional horsemanship. I later completed a bachelor’s degree in sports and exercise psychology from West Virginia University, where I developed a deep appreciation for what the sport of competition had done for my personal development. Through my study, I gathered a deeper understanding of release, nervous system regulation, stress response and resiliency, which I then mirrored through horsemanship. I am currently raising cowhorses and children with my husband Chris in Williston, North Dakota.

What made you want to join the MonDak Quarter Horse Board of Directors?

I joined the MonDak Quarter Horse Association board because I wanted to honor the generations who built the circuits and clubs that contributed to my youth, by serving my community as they had done before me.
